Praise you and thank you Lord!

Just like the first time when we needed a place to stay for our fist visit at MD Anderson. There’s vacancy at Faith House perfectly from December 15th to 20th. It was a warm and great place to stay for patient and the caregiver to go through the stressful time. Wonderful hospitality provided by Faith Lutheran Church’s staff and volunteers for 38 years!

Yesterday when Mama Liu called, there is no vacancy for us to go back on January 6-17. But, less than 24 hours, Faith House called back. Someone cancelled the booking, now we can stay there from 6th to 17th. What a surprise!
Mama Liu was sad for no room to go back but for some reason she gave her little hope silently to the Lord hoping there might be a cancelation (very remote). God is so good ! A surprise joy always!

Papa Frank Liu’s schedule at MD Anderson –

According to yesterday’s phone conversation with Dr. Sagiv and today’s conversation from the nurse. There will be:

01/07 – Consultation with Dr. Goepfert, Head & Neck Surgeon
01/07 – Anesthesia Assessment, OR Procedures
01/13 – Blood/Specimen Collection
01/13 – Pre-Op
01/15 – Upcoming Procedures in the morning

Papa Frank Liu’s Sebaceous Carcinoma

Started like a Stye but growing fast into bigger size of a white cyst. When visited Dr. Alford the first time, he immediately cut part of the eyelid (it’s the lower right eyelid) and more of the margin and the biopsy result is malignant.

We went on our trip to China and Taiwan right after it. Frank had check-up in July and nothing has come back. But, by November 20, the eye bag area puffed up a little. He was urged by Mama Christine Liu to go see Dr. Alford again. Then, the biopsy shows the massive growth of the cancer cells. Dr. Alford and his nurse helped us to connect MD Anderson and seeking treatment after Thanksgiving.

就像我们第一次去MD安德森癌症中心时需要找地方住一样，信心之家（Faith House）12月15日至20日正好有空房。对于病人和照顾者来说，那里是一个温暖舒适的地方，让我们能够度过那段很大压力的时光。信心路德教会（Faith Lutheran Church）的同工和志愿者们38年来一直尽心并存着爱心管理照顾着这一栋温暖的屋子给需要的人！

昨天Mama Liu打电话过去，他们说1月6日至17日没有空房了。但是不到24小时，信仰之家就打电话来了。有人取消了预订，现在我们可以从6号到17号入住了。

Mama Liu当时有点失望没有空房，但心中却默默地知道上帝会预备，一个小小的希望交给了天父：有人能取消预订（虽然希望渺茫）。上帝真是太好了！总是赐下惊喜！

Papa Liu 在MD安德森癌症中心的日程安排 –

根据昨天与萨吉夫医生的电话沟通以及今天护士的谈话，具体安排如下：

1月7日 – 与头颈外科医生会诊

1月7日 – 麻醉评估，手术室操作

1月13日 – 血液/标本采集

1月13日 – 术前准备

1月15日 – 上午的手术

刘爸爸的皮脂腺癌

起初像麦粒肿，但迅速发展成一个较大的白色囊肿。第一次去看艾福德医生时，他立即切去了部分眼睑（右下眼睑）以及更多边缘组织，活检结果显示为恶性肿瘤。

之后我们仍然有一个多月中国大陆和台湾之行。Papa Liu 在七月份进行了复查，当时一切正常。但到了11月20日，他的眼袋处略微肿胀起来。在Mama Liu的劝说下，他再次去看艾福德医生。随后，活检结果显示癌细胞已明显扩长。艾福德医生和他的护士帮助我们联系了休士顿安德森癌症中心，并安排感恩节后前往休士顿接受治疗。
