Dr. Sagiv, the industrious young surgeon has his high praised reputation on tacking the most unusual cases and saving the eye is always his goal.
He gave me (Mama Liu) a detailed report on Frank’s surgery. Basically, everything went well and he found some spread to Frank’s nose bridge area, so he removed them as well.
He has used part of the upper eyelid to replace the cancerous part of the bottom eyelid area, and “cement” the two parts for the tissue to grow. Then, it will undergo surgeries for separation when time is right.
Before the test results is out, they don’t know if this area will go through Proton therapy or not. Dr. Sagiv and Dr. Goepfert both mentioned that it’s not safe to do so unless it is absolutely necessary.
We shall wait for another 5 days to find out how’s the wound when Dr. Sagiv took the bandage patch off on 20th.
After Dr. Sagiv finished his work, it was Dr. Goepfert’s turn to work on Frank’s lymph nodes.
After the surgery Dr. Goepfert’s PA came to give a report first but shortly Dr. Goepfert was so kind to get away from his next procedure to talk to me personally.
He got curly hair, funny glasses and a voice with good resonance! He should be a singer! And best of all he explained everything very thoroughly too. From him I heard how much he praises and respects his colleague, Dr. Sagiv’s expertise and principles on operations. He is an excellent surgeon himself! Everyone can see the traits. He communicates sincerely, clearly and compassionately. Patient’s and families’ natural worries being explained with hopes. It is an encouragement and comfort to know he promises to care and to always find a way to help.
Regarding the lymph node tumor, Dr. Goepfert found no spread. A drain tube was installed at the surgical site, which will be removed in at least 5 days, once the drainage decreases to a certain level.
Proton therapy is unavoidable, scheduled to start on February 9th for 6 consecutive weeks, 5 days a week. Please pray for us to return to “Faith House”.

萨吉夫医生完成工作后，轮到蓋伏特医生处理Papa Liu的淋巴结腫瘤。手术后，蓋伏特医生的助理先来报告，但不久蓋伏特医生非常親切地从下一个手术中抽出时间亲自与我交谈。他一頭卷发，戴着有趣的镜片，声音明亮有共鳴！（我覺得他唱歌應該不錯！）
最可貴的是，他把一切都解释得非常透彻。从他那里我听到了他对萨吉夫医生在手术方面的专业知识和原则的赞扬。他自己也是一位优秀的外科医生！相信每个人都能看得出來。他談話真诚、清晰、非常親切地与人沟通。患者的和家属自然的擔憂在他那里得到了有希望的解释。知道他承诺照顾并总能找到方法帮助，是对我们的鼓励和安慰。
針對淋巴結腫瘤，蓋伏特醫生沒有發現擴散。在開刀處安上引流管，也是至少五天，在觀察流量減少到一定程度時就可以拔管子。
而 質子治療是不能免的。大概定在二月9日開始一連六個星期，每星期五天的療程。請為我們能回來“信心之家”代禱。
